Non-Woven Storage Bag Guide: Types, Weights & Retail Packaging Tips

A buyer's guide to non-woven storage bags for home organization and retail — covering bag types, fabric weight, and retail packaging requirements.

Shenghui Non-woven

Non-woven storage bags have become a steady seller in home retail and supermarket channels, thanks to their lightweight construction, easy fold-flat storage, breathability (which prevents mold buildup in sealed environments), and reusability. Unlike gift bags or totes, storage bags are judged on function — load capacity, airflow, and how compactly they fold when not in use.

Main Types

Upright storage bag (most common): features a zippered top closure for folded clothing or bedding; sizes range from 30×20×10cm (small items) up to 60×50×20cm (large comforters and duvets). Flat drawer organizer: no zipper, designed to stack and layer inside drawers for compartmentalized sorting. Cube storage box (frame insert style): built-in rigid frame insert allows the bag to stand on its own — ideal for shelf or wardrobe cubby organization.

Fabric & Weight

Standard non-woven storage bags: 70~80gsm — lightweight but require a frame insert to hold their shape upright. Heavy-duty versions: 90~120gsm — semi-self-supporting without a frame insert. For bags with a transparent PVC window (so contents are visible at a glance), opt for a non-woven and PVC window composite construction — check that the window seam welds are solid and durable.

Retail Packaging Considerations

For consumer (retail) sales, storage bags typically need individual OPP bag packaging plus a hang tag, adding approximately 0.3~0.5 RMB per unit to packaging costs. The hang tag should include dimensions, material composition, and care instructions (note if machine-washable).

Print Recommendations

A clean brand logo combined with category icons (clothing, books, toys, etc.) works well on storage bags — 1~2 color screen printing is sufficient. Legibility and recognizability on shelf take priority over fine-detail reproduction.
